high country motel & cabins

cooke city, MT

As the highest rated lodging in Cooke City, High Country customer service is the #1 mentioned trait in reviews. Just 4 miles from the gates of Yellowstone National Park.

Cooke City is a historical mining town and is home to around 100 residents in the winter and booms in the summer to thousands including summer residents and tourists. Cooke City is not your typical “sleepy” small town however and still has that residual wild feel of an old mining town.

The Cabins were built in 1954.  They are exactly what you are looking for at the end of a long day of hiking, skiing or fishing (and not necessarily in that order).  They all face west and enjoy beautiful views of Mount Republic, Woody, Baronette, and Miller mountains.  We have recently replaced the carpet, beds and lighting to make the experience that much more comfortable.  You can have the rustic feel without compromising on comfort.
