Lone Mountain Ranch Sleigh Ride Dinner
The Sleigh Ride Dinner at Lone Mountain Ranch is a true Montana experience! Load up in a horse-drawn sleigh for a memorable ride to a lantern-lit cabin for a prime rib dinner and cowboy entertainment.
When you arrive at the ranch, you’ll walk up to the saloon attached to the Horn & Cantle restaurant. When you check in you’ll receive a card that has your seat assignments for dinner, the name of your sleigh driver, and the names of the horses that will be pulling your sleigh. Ours were Tony and Bud, so if you see them at the ranch, say hello for us! After you check in you’ll still have plenty of time before they begin loading the sleighs. Order a drink and some appetizers and enjoy the beautiful view of the ranch property. There are heaters and a warm fire on the deck, so you don’t have to be stuck indoors if you don’t want to be.
They begin loading the sleighs around 7:00 p.m. You’ll have a chance to say hello to the horses and take some photos before you board, but if you want the place all to yourself, head down to the loading area about 15 minutes early. They even have a fire going to keep you warm while you wait.
The ride up to the North Fork Cabin is beautiful! When you arrive, you’ll head up the stairs into the cabin where a historic wood stove has already warmed up the room and oil lanterns are hanging from the ceiling. Each table has a horseshoe centerpiece complete with a candle. Every bit of food served during dinner is phenomenal, from the rosemary popovers to the prime rib, and the amazing huckleberry cobbler for dessert. Make sure you come hungry! To top it all off, the cowboy entertainment throughout the evening is a true taste of Montana, fun for locals and tourists alike. You can even take home a CD to keep the memory of the night alive for years to come.
At the end of the night, you’ll once again board the sleighs and be taken back to the main part of the ranch. You probably won’t want to head home after the night you just had, so here’s a tip: consider booking the Sleigh & Stay package when you make your reservation.
